American Beauty Labs

Overview

American Beauty Labs is a clinical platform built for the modern cosmetic practice, helping nurses and clinics manage their clientele, document procedures, and obtain compliant medical approvals. American Beauty Labs engaged Sentia to architect and develop a full-stack digital solution that transforms how nurses and cosmetic clinics coordinate with doctors for treatment approvals. Sentia led the entire technical delivery—from system design and backend architecture to frontend development and real-time queue management.

Sentia designed and built a secure multi-user web application that allows nurses and clinics to manage clients, document appointments, and initiate live doctor approvals for cosmetic procedures like Botox and fillers. We implemented a custom queueing system using Ably to facilitate real-time notifications when a nurse is ready for doctor consultation. Sentia also integrated telehealth video conferencing directly into the platform, allowing doctors to review and approve treatments in compliance with medical guidelines.

The backend was developed using Ruby on Rails, with a React.js frontend, hosted on AWS for scalability and resilience. Sentia integrated Stripe for secure and streamlined payment processing and ensured compliance through secure data handling, role-based access control, and detailed audit logs. Our work enabled American Beauty Labs to launch a platform that supports growth, enhances patient safety, and simplifies regulatory compliance in cosmetic practices.
